5th Feb 2005 New Zealand wins Oceania for the first time ever

West End Petanque (previously Petanque Mt Albert) has just completed its first season at its new terrain as part of West End Bowling Club (Inc).

It is unanimous amongst members that it is the best move the club could have done and that all members have benefited from the welcome they have received from existing members of the bowling club.

The facilities are great, the results from competition this year have been unsurpassed with four of the club members chosen to represent Auckland in the Auckland / Wellington challenge (Grant, Janet, Bill and Bob) and that is out of a team of just twelve. We also had a member chosen to represent NZ in the Senior Trans-Tasman challenge (Bob). Congratulations to all the above on their selection.
