West End Petanque

Join us to play Petanque (also called boules) when you are in Auckland, New Zealand.

Club day is Saturday from 1pm until 4pm

Here is why the sport of Petanque or Boules is such a great game to play

The boules are not expensive and last a lifetime
Little or no special preparation is needed for the playing surface
You can play almost anywhere with little or no preparation
Everything you need to play fits into a small box
No great strength or athleticism is needed
People of all ages can compete on an equal basis
The rules and strategy of the game are not hard to learn
It is a wonderful centerpiece for more general social activity such as picnics, camping trips or family outings

From the North Shore: Take the Shelly Beach Rd off ramp immediately after crossing the Harbour Bridge. Proceed South West on Shelly Beach Rd. At the end of Shelly Beach Rd, turn right onto Jervois Rd. After 0.3km turn right onto Hamilton Rd. Continue for 91m. West End Bowling and Petanque Club is on your right hand side. (Parking is 50m down the driveway).

From the Southern Motorway: Take the Nelson St off ramp. Turn left onto Victoria st West. After 0.8km, go straight onto College Hill. Afer 0.7km go straight onto Jervois Rd. After 0.6km go right onto Hamilton Rd. Continue for 91m. West End Bowling and Petanque Club is on your right hand side. (Parking is 50m down the driveway).

From the North Western Motorway: Take the Newton Rd off ramp. Go straight onto Ponsonby Rd. After 1.6km, go left onto Pompallier Tce. After 0.4km, go right onto Clarence St. After 0.4 km, go left onto Jervois Rd. After 93m go right onto Hamilton Rd. Continue for 91m. West End Bowling and Petanque Club is on your right hand side. (Parking is 50m down the driveway).
